About us
A local recovery and vehicle transport operator for Newcastle and the North East, available 24 hours a day, every day. Straight answers, careful handling and a price confirmed before we set off.

Tyne Road Rescue is a local vehicle recovery and transport operator serving Newcastle upon Tyne and the wider North East of England. We help drivers whose cars and vans have broken down, been damaged or simply need moving from one place to another.
Being local means we know the region's roads, from the A1 and A19 to the Coast Road, the Tyne Tunnels and the routes out into Northumberland and County Durham. When you call, you are speaking to a business that knows the area, not a distant call centre.
Our work falls into two main areas.
We are available 24 hours a day, every day, for breakdowns, accidents, flat batteries, flat tyres and vehicles that will not start at home. If your vehicle cannot be sorted where it is, we can take it to your home, a garage of your choice or another safe address. See our recovery services for the full list.
Not every job is an emergency. We also move non-runners, MOT failures, auction purchases, project cars and vehicles going to or from garages and bodyshops, both locally and over longer distances. Our vehicle transport page explains more.
A breakdown is stressful enough without surprises. These are the principles we stick to on every job.
We work across Newcastle and the surrounding towns, including Gateshead, Wallsend, North Shields, South Shields, Whitley Bay, Gosforth, Cramlington, Blyth, Ponteland, Washington and Sunderland. We also travel further across the North East, and beyond for planned transport. Our areas we cover page has the details.
Company and insurance details: available on request, just ask when you call or email.
If you have a question about us, or a job you would like a price for, call 07763 706 830, email info@tyneroadrescue.co.uk or use our contact page. You can also read our frequently asked questions.
How it works
Call and tell us your location, vehicle and destination if you know it. A postcode, landmark or what3words is fine.
We confirm what is needed, give you an honest estimate and agree the price before we set off.
Your vehicle is loaded carefully, secured and taken to the agreed garage, home or destination.
